Future Expansion Plan

The Bahamas Museum of History and Natural Science aims to bridge the gap between traditional learning and the digital experiences that today’s youth engage with daily. By harnessing the power of digital technology, we will create an interactive, captivating platform that competes with the myriad of media channels vying for younger audiences’ attention. The museum will not only draw traditional visitors but also connect with younger generations, offering them a more accessible and engaging way to explore Bahamian history and science.

The BMHNS is a four-tier offering.

  • The BMHNS – interactive digital museum platform.

  • The Ocean Science Center – This is a physical space from where our ocean/earth sciences and climate change education programing will be projected on an animated digital system developed in conjunction with Queensland University of Technology (Australia). This partnership will allow the BMHNS to share ocean science content from the Bahamas with other places across the world connected via a QUT digital CUBE system.
  • The Bahamas Learning Channel – Is a dedicated cable TV channel that hosts documentaries and live interviews with professional historians and science cohorts

  • The BMHNS Exhibition Center – The exhibition center is an open space approximately 15,000 sq ft that will be dedicated to continuously hosting traveling exhibitions in partnerships with museums across the world.
